Daily // July 2003

Thursday, July 31
Visited the year 2003 bookfair today. Only bought 1 book from pageoNe. It is 'lord of the flies'. Such a stupid book. Anyway, saw Kevin's 2210 and am quite impressed. After the whole event, saw 1940! It feels so different from seeing those virtual pictures on web! The whole griping and form factor is just superb! Such a fascinating device. Hope that I can 'conquer' it soon. One picture here before I get too hungry about it (it is not mine):

Wednesday, July 30
Went for tea with grandparents in ¤jºaµØ, a huge restaurant with abundant dim sums. The quality is just okay, and I thought they could have done better. Anyway, I attend PTH lessons after that. Then went back home and started watching tv. Better finish The Color of Water soon, since half of the summer holiday has passed.

Bonjour!
Today went to second French lesson. Memorized all the numbers from 1-100 just now. Not too bad. And also, paid the hosting money, and the site is exquix.com. I will send them the transaction code later. Just now I received a card from SCMP about the HOT 100 offers. Here is a photo of it:

"When the earth is sick and dying, a tribe of people from all races, creeds and colors will come together and put their faith in deeds, not words, to make the land green again."
Above is what I saw in a restaurant called Bookworm. So today started my first ever French lesson. A new language from scratch. Really challenging. And, today learned the stupid alphabetes. Tomorrow she said, I will have to memorize all the numbers, from 1-100. Crazy.
Sunday, July 27
Today is an early Daily. Why? Because of two reasons. One is that Beatrice is leaving for Europe tonight, so I think she wants to read mine earlier. Second is that, while I was reading newspaper just now, I saw a really good Calvin and Hobbes episode. Here it is:

Calvin and Hobbes Sunday Edition
Calvin=C, Hobbes=H

C: Today at school, I tried to decide whether to cheat on my test or not.
C: I wondered, is it better to do the right thing and fail..or is it better to do the wrong thing and succeed!
C: On the one hand, undeserved success gives no satisfaction..but on the other hand, well-deserved failure gives no satisfaction either.
C: Of course, most everybody cheats some time or other. People always bend the rules if they think they can get away with it. Then again, that doesn't justify my cheating.
C: Then I thought, look, cheating on one little test isn't such a big deal, it doesn't hurt anyone...But then I wondered if I was just rationalizing my unwillingness to accept the consequence of not studying.
C: Still, in the real world, people care about success, not principles...Then again, maybe that's why the world is in such a mess. What a delimma!
H: Then what did you decide?
C: Nothing. I ran out of time and I had to turn in a blank paper.
H: Anymore, simply acknowledging the issue is a moral victory.
C: Well, it just seemed wrong to cheat on an ethics test.

Saturday, July 26
Busy Saturday again. Played tennis for 3 hours, then came back home for lunch, took abath, and went for lessons. So boring. Every Saturday the same. Something interesting might be that, I am going to take some introductory French before arriving at Taft. And, I am going to start it next Monday.
Friday, July 25
Friday again. Pasts so quickly. And again, read The Color of Water this morning after breakfast. Then went with my mum and brother to Marriot at 3 for hi-tea. They call it the 'dessert feast', where you will find millions and millions kinds of desserts on the buffet bar. Today's special: sweet apple almond crackers, marble cheese cake, straw-and-rasp berry cheese pie, mango tiramisu, cocktail chocolate mousse, strawberry plus banana plus mango pancake, hazelnuts biscults, you name it. I recommend it. Try it sometime.
Thursday, July 24
Continued reading The Color of Water today. Hope that I can finish it as soon as possible. Nothing much to say now, after much sufferings from the gales and harsh rain. Anyway tomorrow will be more interesting, hopefully.
Wednesday, July 23
If you chew gum and swallow it, your behind will close up.
Above is an extract from The Color of Water, which I read a few chapters when I was in mainland yesterday and Monday.

Such a long day today. Started when my dad alarmed me with his radio. I dressed and went down to feed the carps, which I spent plenty of time, cause there are 70 of them! Then of course, sat down at my dad's office, dreaming. Somehow, I got a walkie talkie (one of those the securities there use). Below is what I talked through that funny toy:

Conversation
Eugene (E): Hello.
Security (S) (in chinese): Who is that?
E: Testing 1 2 3.
S (in chinese): Someone go check who that is!
S 2 (in chinese): That is the boss's son. He has got my walkie talkie.

Basically that's all. Do not think that it is a mischief that I had done, it's just that I wanted to try it. So when we finally arrived to HK at 12 something, we joined my mum and my brother for lunch. Then rushed for PTH lessons. And now it is raining and pouring like mad. No Ocean Park tomorrow. Discouraged.

Check out 'Summer'. It is updated.
Sunday, July 20
A fullfilling day. Bought some accessories for future schooling, such as wallet, sunglasses, leather shoe, and some cleansing stuff. Some are not really for school, but daily equipments. And..about the domain, most likely I am going to register later or tomorrow.
Saturday, July 19
A very busy day. Played tennis for 3 hours in the morning as usual, then traveled home and groomed, and rushed for lessons. Between the hours, Kevin called. Nasty call. He said he is not free on Thursday. So now everything has to be changed and scheduled again. Perhaps on Sunday. Anyway these shall be settled.
Friday, July 18
Welcome to the complete new version of login - Login U. It is still in test, therefore do not expect too much. You may put your opinions in the guestbook.
Thursday, July 17
Spent the whole morning reading The Color of Water. The mum of the author, namely 'Mrs. Jordan' or 'Mrs. McBride', is really hilarious. Anyway I am going to take my contact lens tomorrow afternoon. Two pairs this time. Oh right! Mum also bought my a new series of blemish (pimples) treatment kit today. Really 'ma faan'. Not sure if I am going to use it seriously.
Wednesday, July 16
Long time no daily guys!
So, today received report card. Yeah..yeah..dropped a lot, but it's part of my history. Martin, Kevin and I went to Olivers to have brunch afterwards. Anyway today show a picture of yesterday's lunch buffet.

Monday, July 7
Went for eye checkup at 12 today. Right eye increased 25. Very sad. I also have to purchase another pair of contact lens so that in case I broke or missed them in America, I still have a spare one. Tomorrow will continue my health report thing, and has a great chance of taking the measles vaccine. Anyway it will be settled.
Sunday, July 6
Finally had a peaceful and restful day. Got up at 9 (not too late) and went shopping with mum. Then went home and did something for school. Took a nap..etc. A day was passed after these activities.
Saturday, July 5
Very, very busy. Played tennis for 3 hours in the morning, then rushed home for lunch, then rushed to buy present, then rushed to lessons. Crazy. Anyway it's Beatrice's birthday today!*This time make it so colorful that even people with color blindness can notice it.
HAPPY    BIRTHDAY!
Friday, July 4
Very busy day today. Went to special meeting at 11 then had buffet with mum in Kowloon Hotel. I had also taken a body check after that, and pulled out some blood..took vaccinations..etc. Anyway tomorrow will be more busy, with tennis following with lessons. And, yes, I won't forget, it's Beatrice birthday TOMORROW!! Wahahahaha! *Make it as big as can be so that even the blind will recognise it.
Happy Birthday!
Thursday, July 3
Another boring day. Stayed at home almost the whole day playing games. Roller Coaster Tycoon..Sims..etc. Have to go out for meeting tomorrow. Hope that it will be a more colorful day.
Update: Just now found something interesting:

A fart can be quiet,
A fart can be loud,
Some leave a powerful,
poisonous cloud...

A fart can be short,
A fart can be long,
Some farts have been known
to sound just like a song...

A fart can create
a most curious medley,
A fart can be harmless,
or silent, but deadly...

A fart might not smell,
while others are vile,
A fart may pass quickly,
or linger awhile...

A fart can occur
in a number of places,
And leave everyone
with strange looks on their faces...

From wide-open prairie,
to small elevators,
A fart will find all of us
sooner or later...

But not all farts are bad,
this is simply not true -
We mustn't forget...
Old farts like you!

Wednesday, July 2
Nothing much today. Went to pth lessons during the afternoon and tried the iced coffee from mcdonald's. Not bad. Might try the iced tea next time.
Tuesday, July 1
Went to my dad's factory in mainland and stayed for a night, so no daily yesterday.
Today was real fun. I went to Harbour City with my dad and found a new shop called Papyrus. Bought a stamp-shaped clock there and it looks really hilarious. We also tried to find a container for the camera, but Sony shop is not open. These people are really lazy. Anyway show you the picture of the clock:
