Friday, October 31 Hallow-e-e-n!! Feel its power! Just noticed from Taft news that there is somehow a 'File Sharing Club'. Thats so cool. I expect kids sitting in front of their computers sharing files? What the?! Anyway the people dressed awkwardly today. Some dressed like angels, knights (Go Pete!), spiderman etc. The most extreme was a group of people dressing up as sperms and eggs. SAT II tomorrow. Try not to get too wild tonight. Thursday, October 30 Halloween tomorrow. No holiday but normal school day. Was told to dress up like a senior named Andy Sparks. Impossible. How can I dress up like him, who, is the varsity football captain? What a humiliation to both of us. Two more days until SAT II Chinese. Kind of nervous though I know it's easy. British Airways, based in the land of the football hooligan, gives a soccer-inspired yellow penalty card to unruly passengers. The card reads in part 'PLEASE NOW CALM DOWN AND ACT IN A SENSIBLE MANNER SO THAT OUR STAFF CAN DEAL WITH YOUR PROBLEM.' BA says the card works in the vast majority of cases.

Monday, October 27 What a blast! Just today the headmaster ordered tomorrow a holiday! We call it a headmaster's holiday. So some rest again, no sit-downs today and tomorrow. Cool. Saturday, October 25 Eastern Standard Time (EST) will officially start at midnight, which means that, when it is 8am here, it is 9pm in HK. Just came back from the play. Yes, again. It was the second time but still a great show. Haven't done any homework yet. Tomorrow will be a busy day.
Friday, October 24 Today was much more normal. A lot of work in weekend: history essay, science project and lab evaluation, and most likely something from French. Parents day tomorrow. See what happens. Wallpaper again:
Thursday, October 23 Just went to the Bingham Auditorium for the "Les Miserables" play. It was 2 hour long but was definitely a great show. I really like it. Might see it tmr or on Sat again. So today had my French chapter test. There were like 7 pages, and I spended nearly an hour on it. English class was fun. All of us had to read out our parodies. Jeffrey's one, "In order to make every student in Taft obedient and hardworking, students should be beaten." You should have an imagery in mind how he proposes his argument. Wow. Parent weekend this Saturday. For instance, my parents will not come, but I still have to work on other things, such as the performance in chorus. All lessons will be shortened that day. Faculties said that it will be a chaotic day - who knows. Daylight savings time will end tomorrow night and return to standard time. In other words, we will go back one hour before we sleep, so we gain an hour of sleep! One more thing - a wallpaper today:
Tuesday, October 21 PSAT was fine. Math part was kind of easier though, but verbal parts are definitely difficult for me. Attended only 2 classes today. And just revised a bit for the big French test on Thursday. English parody due tomorrow night. Strange assignment. Have to relate it to a Taft issue. Anyway everything is going fine - at this moment. Monday, October 20 Very depressing day. After attending the morning meeting talking about honored grades (5.22 or above) which is crazy, I got my mid-term grades from Mr. Fritz. Here's the chart:
English 3.5 B French 4.5 A Maths 5.5 A Scien ce 5.5 A History 4.0 A Average: 4.6
In the Taft grading system, A+ to whatever is rated from 6.0 to 1. The letter next to the grades are my effort grades. Obviously I am not doing as well in English. And a far way to reach to 5.22. Anyway PSAT tomorrow. God bless.
Sunday, October 19 Whoah. Finished a lot of stuffs today. English argumentative essay, history bibliography revision, physics report. But no sports cause it was raining. Surfed the internet for 2 hours too. Discovered the release of Adobe Photoshop CS (Creative Suite), which makes me frustrated:
Saturday, October 18 Mission accomplished here, too. Went to cut my hair after lunch in Salon 63. A lot of old people there, which kind of scared me. Well..it was not that bad. Then walked back alone played golf with some friends. We just messed around actually. The scene was quite good though, with trees that are turning yellow and nice bright sky. Enough reasons to take pictures?
Friday, October 17 "Creativity is great, but plagiarism is faster." Study hall was kinda less tough today. Only have to desgin a floorplan for French and debate for English. Weekend again. Quite busy though. English essay due Monday, physics report due Monday, PSAT on Tuesday. Might get a haricut tomorrow. We'll see. Nice Athens 2004 icon:
Thursday, October 16 Screened for Hong Kong video today. It will be shown in the Taft Reception in November I think. Really strange to talk in front of the video camera. Also, iTunes for Windows is launched! Highly recommended to download. Looks so cool on Windows. Added my address in the Contact page so feel free to mail me postcards, Christmas presents, red packets etc. =) Anyway, see this:
We might be best friends one year... pretty good friends the next year... don't talk that often the next year... and don't want to talk at all the year after that... Monday, October 13 Westfarm Mall, known as the second biggest in Connecticut, has nothing to shop at all. Well..when we were dropped off, we quickly crossed the street to Bestbuy. Nothing to buy, then went to Old Navy, nothing to buy again. After that entered Westfarm, so crowded. I wonder why people go there. There is simply nothing to see, nothing to buy, and, nothing at all attractive - except the Apple shop! So at the end just bought a few clothes and some cards. The girls are pretty crazy though - they bought things like Disney version monopoly, dolls, and one bought an iPod. 10GB. So cool. Envious. Anyway, aren't these icons cool?
Sunday, October 12 "I never think of my future, it comes soon enough." Yes, yes, went to NYC today. The weather was not that good. Well..not too bad. Steve, Jeff and I wandered around the strange city full of blacks, through main streets and few backstreets, with people greeting "Michael Jackson is Chinese" when they see you. Although we had like a 6 hour free tour, we went to very few places. Old Navy, central park, Sony Centre and 2 computer stores. Sony Centre was kind of interesting, but then someone lend me 60 dollars for a mp3 player costing 32x with tax. Anyway, we were tired enough to sleep through the returning bus trip, but we didn't. Cooked noodle for dinner at 9. Westfarm tomorrow. Just like any other holidays, long weekend seems too short! Sigh..
Friday, October 10 Such a 'properous' day. Received two packages. One is the handheld vacuum which I ordered online last Sunday. Another is a 40GB iPod from my parents(they even engraved words!):

She is always so busy, really precious to meet with her. And the weather today got alot warmer. Hooray! Long weekend is approaching!!
Tuesday, October 7 Last sit-down dinner today before long weekend. We will not have them till spring. Cool. And confirmed going to New York City on Sunday and Westfarm Mall on Monday with the international club people.
Monday, October 6 Busy day again. Received my French and Maths test. Both got a 5.0. And now just finished my homework and started to get sleepy. Heat tomorrow! No more wool socks or sweaters! Hooray!
Sunday, October 5 Four of us played tennis around 3 today and met the two girls again. Did we approach? Nope. We concentrated on ourselves. After that took a shower and headed for dinner. And just noticed that the poetry book required for English class cost $100 US with 1800 pages. Isn't that nuts?
Saturday, October 4 Today, the 3 of us insane people walked to the town again. Well..one had to buy phone and tissue paper; one had to buy printer. I didn't buy anything except biscuits and eye stuff. It was raining and freezing cold. Anyway we met the two girls in Starbucks and they invited us to the Chinese restaurant. Strange enough we denied and left.
Friday, October 3 Roommate's mother came again. Scolded him for being so messy, cleaned the room(only his area) and warned him not to pile useless stuffs blocking people coming in. That's great. Now the room looks more spacious and alot cleaner. Time really flies. Weekends again. Then long weekend where we have 4 days holiday next week. Might go to New York City, they say. Or shop in some big malls. Eitherone would be fun for me.
