Saturday, November 29 "Would you LUV a SUV?" Above is an advertisement for a suv along the road. Anyway, last day of November means first day of revision. Started revising history after lunch in a Shanghai restaurant. Tiny portion compared to the syllabus. Tomorrow at five will be on my way back to school. The week of thanksgiving break has gone - too slick and quick.
Friday, November 28 Too tired to write anything. Save it for tomorrow..
Thursday, November 27 Happy Thanksgiving! Traveled extensively today by car. 3 hours to New York because of travel jam, 1 hour to Gigi's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Really hate long drives, they just make me sick. Anyway, the dinner was great and had a lot of dessert. Still haven't studied yet! Got to do so sometime soon.
Wednesday, November 26 Don't know why I could allow history to repeat itself. Again, sat through the whole day in front of the computer. Sadly, I used up all the battery in both my pda and cell phone. Looking for a three leg to two leg converter now to charge them back. By the way, I still haven't figured out what the spongy towel thing from Beatrice is. Any clue?
Tuesday, November 25 Basically did nothing today, since my enthusiasm for visiting New York faded as my dad went home. Sat through the whole afternoon on the bed playing bounce. Just finished level 10. Eyes soar and headache..awh. Wallpaper..
Click here to download .exe including any resolution you can think of.
Edit: Updated the logo too. Obviously inspired by the wallpaper.
Monday, November 24 Spent the whole day wandering in New York city with my dad. Even walked to Rockefella then to Chinatown. Very messy. Fortunately able to get a prepay phone card to use in cell phone. After that we met with uncle and aunt for shabu shabu. Drove my dad to the airport, kind of sad to see him go, but he has work to do. Anyway, sleep in again tomorrow.
Sunday, November 23 Had dim sum for lunch and Korean barbecue for dinner. Visited Ground Zero, the world trade center path station. Kind of renovated now, and will build them back soon I think. Anyway, relax is the word today.
Saturday, November 22 Free! Rode a bus to JFK for 3 hours, met my dad and my cousin, had Chinese food, shopped the Asia market, got a haircut. Now surfing the web by the amazingly fast internet!! At least a thousand times faster than that at Taft. Anyway, tomorrow..Sunday..relax..laid back..wake up at..um..9?
Thursday, November 20 Happy birthday Wilson!! Two more days. Glad to know that I got a 4.5 on history in class essay and 4.0 in the primary source analysis. Song today (get mtv here [.exe self extract file])
Wednesday, November 19 "Rain pouring outside, heart breaking inside." Too many work this week..although I really enjoy working on my English essay..it's just too much stress..too many things to handle..and after a week of holiday..one week of preparation..exams..here them come..
Apart from this unusual workload, I received Beatrice's parcal! It kind of enlightened my day. Very glad to see them all in perfect shape. I love them! Thanks so much! Actually that thing costed at least $250. Indeed, as you said, money isn't the fact; it's the time and energy devoted to it! Thanks again! Photo of the bluetooth thingy (still not syncing):
Tuesday, November 18 An old lady gave us a talk in meeting block this morning. She talked about her experience as one of the first 50 people in the world successfully received a liver transplantation and survived twenty years ago. She urged us to dicuss our decision with our love ones. Anyway very astonished to learn that I got a 4.0 on my math test. Can't believe that I could drop off the 5 range. Sigh..Monday, November 17 Three things arrived today. First, thanks to Martin, Faye's CD came in mint condition. Nothing was cracked this time. Thanks again Martin!! It's great and I appreciate that so much!! Secondly, the Sony Bluetooth adapter that I ordered online. Cheaper that original price so bought it. Form factor superb, so small that it weighs only 0.5 grams. Sad enough, it doesn't sync with my pocket pc. Not sure if it will work in the future. Thirdly, a French electronic dictionary from my dad. Nice machine, since his factory made it. Looked up a few words in it just now and it is fast. Still figuring out how to enter accents though. History in-class essay tomorrow plus primary source analysis. Die hard. Suffering from restlessness...
Saturday, November 15 Nothing much today. Played some squash, and watched Finding Nemo again in Bingham. Wallpaper:
Thursday, November 13 Busy busy busy. Followup picture to yesterday's daily:
Wednesday, November 12 Wicked!! Can't believe my eyes! Sony's new Extreme Vaio X505 is just..pure magic. See it to believe it. (Flash here)
Tuesday, November 11 Had a very inspiring meeting this morning. A faculty talked about war on Iraq. Some follow up he made can be view here, which consist of a recent report on the war. Quite touching. Please do spend some time to finish it.
Just now it was hailing! I was wondering if it's raining, then figured out it was not. So cool. They measured about 1mm, which is relatively small.
Monday, November 10 French teacher sick today, so no lesson. Tired. Wallpaper again:
Sunday, November 9 So many things to do! Frustrated. Wallpaper today:
Saturday, November 8 I received it! Thanks a lot. Promise to send you something back in Christmas. So, Hotchkiss day. Nothing too special to me though - there were no tennis matches! Basically the school was like 90% emptied so quiet. Roommate not here tonight. Get wild? No thanks. Many things to do tomorrow. Need some rest. Yawn..Friday, November 7 Nothing to say today..tired..
Thursday, November 6 A word to describe time at Taft would definitely be 'fast'. Always remember previous Fridays wondering what will happen in weekends, and here it goes again. It might as though be that we have too many things to do; so many that make us unaware of time slipping away. Anyway, back to non-philisophical daily. Saturday is Hotchkiss day, and this year is away - which means that there will be thousands of packed buses taking us to Hotchkiss. I bought a t-shirt the day before and basically it says, "Hotchkiss. Found in 1891 by xxx" and at the back it says, "Everyone makes mistakes." Quite funny. Okay guys! Get psyched and pumped for Hotchkiss day!
Wednesday, November 5 "Computer is a tool, not a partner." - Frank O. Gehry Just learnt from the news that wireless network coverage is now ready in the whole science and library building. Such an exciting thing.
Tuesday, November 4 Really busy last night because of todays math quiz, science works, english revision and history in-class essay. So finally able to take some rest - sleep in tomorrow. By the way, just found out that each subject is supposed to have a test every week. That is just so..challenging. Also, received the book "Gehry Talks" which I ordered last week. Gehry's architects are truly amazing and worth a tribute. I hope to visit one of his buildings some time.
Sunday, November 2 Still haven't finished all my work through the whole day. Quickly finish today's daily with an image:
Saturday, November 1 SAT II Chinese wasn't as easy as I thought. As least I had to think a bit. Hope I did well in it. Not much was done today, just went downtown to buy some drinks and stuff. A lot of homework to finish tomorrow: English assessment #4 and French revision. Je vais faire mes devoirs ce week-end. Really desperate to get Photoshop CS. Not sure why..
