April 30, 2004
Long weekend arrived! Just came back from Japanica, a japanese (of course) restaurant in Farmington. The food was okay, but simply okay. Anyway, Danbury Mall trip tomorrow - can't wait!

Today is the last official tennis practice in April. Won two challenge matches, which gave a complete new outlook to our team roster. First, I ended my match against Roos by seizing the third set, winning 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-2. It means that I moved from fifth to fourth. After that I challenged Blaine, and I won by 8-2; which means that I jumped from fifth to third in one day! What a frivolous creature I am!

"It might be true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. "
Good win against Avon. Bad day to Oat though. Overall score 6-1, my match: 6-2, 6-0. Pretty darn good. No matches until next week. Last practice before long weekend tomorrow. Hooray!

Reciting poem for Thursday's performance. Here it is. Much like a tongue twister.

Peaches - Peter Davison

A mouthful of language to swallow:
stretches of beach, sweet clinches,
breaches in walls, pleached branches;
britches hauled over haunches;
hunched leeches, wrenched teachers.
What English can do: ransack
the warmth that chuckles beneath
fuzzed surfaces, smooth velvet
richness, plashy juices.
I beseech you, peach,
clench me into the sweetness
of your reaches.

Rainy day again, tennis canceled, stayed in my room for the whole afternoon doing absolutely nothing.

Four more days till long weekend. Sad though, coz the Six Flags trip is canceled and replaced by a mall trip. Anyway, again, tired.

Another win against Loomis today. 6-2, 6-0 for my match and overall 6-1. They actualy retained their clay courts, although those 'clay' courts were much worse than expected.

Haven't touched any homeworks tonight yet, and probably won't. Fun tomorrow. Goodnight.

Nothing much..finished reading chapter 3 of great gatsby..awwh..what a good song..

Carrickfergus - Charlotte Church

I wish I was in Carrickfergus
Where the castle looks out to sea
I would swim over the deepest ocean
For my love to be with me

But the sea is wide and I cannot swim over
Nor have I the wings to fly
I wish I had a handsome boatman
To ferry me over, my love and I

I wish I was in the land of Eire
Where the mountains reach the sea
Where flowers blossom as I do remember
Where my true love came to me

But the sea is wide, and I cannot swim over
Nor have I the wings to fly
Ah, to be back now in Carrickfergus
To be together, my love and I
To be together, my love and I

I wish I was in Carrickfergus
To be together, my love and I

It's called a Loftcube. I would love to see these cute little cubes balancing on the roofs in Hong Kong. Think of one on IFC II..everything under your feet..wouldn't that be cool?

April 21, 2004
Did we win? Yes we did. And I did too. My match is 6-0, 6-1 and the overall score is 5-2. Pretty impressive. Loomis this Saturday. Hope that they still have their cool clay courts. It they do, it will be my first time ever playing on real red clay!

Everyone is getting 'summer'ized. Wearing skirts or miniskirts or minipants girls gather around the pond for sun bath. Boys fool around with frisbees or baseballs. Temperature is rising up to low and even mid twenties.

Anyway, away match against Westminster tomorrow. Anticipating another win. Fingers crossed.

April 19, 2004
Finally done with my term paper. Yes, finally. Played some tennis and rushed back for sit down. Bathroom was so crowded and hot that it felt like a sauna room. Anyway, tired; really tired.
April 17, 2004
Matched with Kingswood Oxford just now. Their team was really crappy, with a few 7 & 8 graders. I won my match against this really tiny kid by 6-2, 6-0. It was really shameful that I lost 2 games. Anyway, our team won by 7-0.
April 16, 2004
Final term paper due Monday..I am..nailed..
April 15, 2004
Played against Will Richards and ended with 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. I did win, but it was a sad win. There was some confusion coz I didn't call the score. Anyway, hope that time will cure the pain for him.

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels? We make tools for these kinds of people. While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. Think different.

Sony is really the master in miniaturization. Introducing the T11, essentially a T1 without a lens cover (doesn't look like it has one). Let's compare their dimensions:
DSC-T1 - 91mm x 60mm x 21mm @ 200g with battery
DSC-T11 - 106mm x 60mm x 17mm @ 186g with battery

April 13, 2004
Rained pretty hard today. Tennis was replaced by a series of tough workouts (again). We'll have our second match against Bershire tomorrow. Not sure about the weather though.. Anyway, looking forward to our second win!
April 12, 2004
Returned to the busy Taft lifestyle immediately when weekend ended. Boring homeworks and impossible tests are just unbearable. Since now my love to pda has returned (quite a bit, honestly), I started hoping for getting something new. Hmm..how can I remove this desire?
April 10, 2004
Thanks to everyone that made my day!
Wow this 16th birthday turned out to be much more exciting than I thought. First is a parcel from my parents - some chocolates and other stuffs. Second is a totally unexpected bday card from Wilson and more (yes, that was a very cool card =P). Third is our win against Deerfield (5-2)! That was a big present to myself! Well, as much as you guys think now, that's it for today right? Nope. When I came back to school around 7pm, Wilson urged me into Steven's room. Lights on. A birthday cake appeared on the desk, with people cheering behind me. That was crazy.. Anyway, although the cake didn't taste that good, it was certainly cool and fun (to look at). So I ended up being tired and weary after this long, yet memorable day.

April 9, 2004
Last year's April 9 was really different from this years - I was still on holiday, and had a birthday lunch with my friends. Today is just a normal day here, with a bit of tennis. Yes, tennis. Played Hank and won 5-7, 6-0, 6-3. You can see from the score that it was intense. Anyway, first match with Deerfield tomorrow. God bless.

Meanwhile, I received my unit back today and they described my problem as "hangs during rebooting". I updated the rom (to version 1.1) and its working great now, not to mention that I finally got it syncing wirelessly with bluetooth! Argh..this is so exciting!
April 8, 2004
JV tennis practice indoors again. Well, played doubles with Clay and we won 6-4, 6-2. Kinda frustrating coz my current position is #6. Anyway, we'll see how it goes after our first match (away) against Deerfield this saturday (on my birthday). Pretty interesting indeed.
April 6, 2004
Called the US hp service support line and had great experiences. They told me that my ipaq's warranty won't end till august, so they immediately shipped me an empty box (for free) so that I can mail my unit in and let them fix it (for free, too). The box should arrive tomorrow. Things going quite well now. We'll see what happens.
April 5, 2004
Believe it or not: I got my Sony bluetooth adapter to work with the widcomm driver. Well of course, I saw an article online that made me successful. Gosh, that man is dedicated! Now the only and biggest problem is my pda itself. Hmm..how could I ever fix it?

April 3, 2004
I guess I should call life back to normal now? Well, doesn't mean that I cannot or am not moody these days though. Partnered Roos against Blain and thai. We won 8-6. Definitely makes me feel better.

Loads of homework to finish tomorrow. Teachers here never learn to give students a break on weekends. Sigh..
April 2, 2004 in Great Depression
First jv practice today, still feeling a bit uncomfortable. Lost to the chicken and the thai in doubles, 6-7 (3-7). Doesn't look good.

Varsity has its first match against Andover tomorrow. All the best to them.

"Perhaps I could have made it.."
This thought stuck at my head so long last night that it almost tortured me to death. I mean, I have expected that rejection since the tryouts started, but it just hurts so much now.

Meanwhile, let's not forget that bright things come after sad ones - my birthday is getting closer. Don't freak yourselves out though. =P
