1) $38 for train ride to DC = a bit too much. Not to mention it excludes lunch+dinner+other spendings.
2) Temperature here was 26C today! Summer is coming!

Last night was so fun. We had a sumptuous seafood dinner at McCormick's in Inner Harbor to once again celebrate Joe's birthday, and after that we went to coffee grounds and played cards. Someone please resurrect Hopkin's Club of Hong Kong!
As for today, Joe and I went to watch the lacrosse game in Homewood field. All the time we were marveling what a violent game lacrosse is..

Homewood
So, I'm sure you'd like to know where I'm living next school year. Here's the floor plan for Homewood South. Nick and I are in 521; Derek and Lihan are in 321. Yay!

March 21, 2007 American Idol - Top 11 - British Invasion - Thoughts
AI last night was good, although I'm not familiar with any of the songs (all of which are from the first "British Invasion" period in the 60s).
My top 3 picks:
[1] Blake Lewis: "Time of the Season"
[2] Melinda Doolittle: "As Long As He Needs Me"
[3] Jordin Sparks: "I Who Have Nothing"
Honorary mention:
[h] LaKisha Jones: "Diamonds Are Forever"
Enjoy the videos!
On another note, I'm living in Homewood next year! Yippee!

Today was a boring day. The weather was exceptionally nice but I did nothing about it. So let's just end it with a boring note in this boring entry on this boring day.

March 13, 2007 American Idol - Top 12 - Diana Ross Songs - Thoughts
What a great episode of AI tonight. First time on the big stage, crowd is amazing, it's just like watching a live concert at home.
My top 3 picks (same people from last week!):
[1] Jordin Sparks: "If We Hold On Together"
[2] Lakisha Jones: "God Bless the Child"
[3] Melinda Doolittle: "Home"
My bottom three:
[boring] Sanjaya Malakar: "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough"
[uninspiring] Brandon Rogers: "You Can’t Hurry Love"
[so-so] Haley Scarnato: "Missing You"
Extra clip:
[hilarious] Simon Cowel impressions by the guys
Thanks to Snap, you can get a preview of the site before visiting it. Enjoy the videos!

Woo I'm back at home. Went to Saddlebrook to visit Jeffrey and played a few hours of tennis with him. I thoroughly enjoyed playing on the real grass/carpet court and the clay courts.
Woo!
March 8, 2007 American Idol Top 8 Men & Top 8 Women - Thoughts
Firstly, may everyone have a great, great, great spring break!
AI is interesting this week. Antonella Barba is finally voted off. Here are my top picks:
[1] Lakisha Jones: "I Have Nothing"
[2] Melinda Doolittle: "I'm a Woman"
[3] Jordin Sparks: "Heartbreaker"
Lakisha was awesome, and I really like the song choice too. Part of her voice does sound like Whitney Houston. Have a look.

When my brother told me my entries are boring, I tolerantly asked him why. He said there's nothing that interests him. So, here you go, car lover, a video of the first ever automated carpark in NYC. At $25 daily/$400 monthly rates, it seems pretty attractive - at least your car is less likely to be driven for a spin by valets, right?

Had tennis practice in the evening. Lost both matches 3-6. Bleh.
Dream in Color Bianca Ryan (12-year old marvel)
Tired of living life in black and whiteThere's so much in between
Like a rainbow in the sky
Waiting to be seen
When I open my eyes to find inspiration
I search for the best I can see
If I settle for less
I won't be the best I can be
[Chorus]
When I dream, I dream in color
There is so much I want to discover
Somewhere I know there's a rainbow
Waiting for me
Life is short, I've been taught
And time is a very precious thing
I want to go to where I've never been
And see what's never been seen
When I wake up each morning I won't take for granted
There'll always be another new day
Got to live for each moment
Never let time slip away
[Chorus]
When my eyes are closed
I still know where to go
I feel so awaken, alive
When I'm vast asleep
I still feel the beat
Of the heart that's so ready to fly
Ready to fly
When I dream, I dream in color
There is so much I've yet to discover
I'm just beginning to set myself free
It's clear to me now of what I believe
Somewhere I know there's a rainbow
Waiting for me
March 2, 2007 American Idol Top 10 Men & Top 10 Women - Thoughts
So, it was interesting this week. Antonella Barba sang so-so and is still safe for another week. Jordin got emotional after singing "Reflection", which she sang well. Here's my top 3 choices from both parties:
[1] Jordin Sparks: "Reflection"
[2] Chris Richardson: "Geek in the Pink"
[3] Lakisha Jones: "Midnight Train to Georgia"
[3] Melinda Doolittle: "My Funny Valentine"
If a picture is worth thousand words, how many words is a video worth? Let's take a look at Jordin's performance.
P.S. Total visits last month was 383 (14980-15363), averaging 13.68 visits per day. Well, not exactly what I wished for, but not a bad rate I guess. Thanks for your continual support!

Today was a good start for March. Maybe a bit gloomy (and it did rain in the evening), but it was okay. We also had a housing info session and a tour in Bradford (3 stars) and Homewood (4 stars). The six of us rooming together have also agreed unanimously to split up in pairs. I'll likely stick with Nick, and good luck Sunny for rooming with Kevin..
Someone unexpected wrote me an email today. I haven't replied yet, but if you're reading this, let me say that it's also heart-warming to receive an email in chinese!
