HP6 + Lihan's Bday
July 18, 2009
Firstly, happy birthday Lihan. Hope you enjoyed your 21st birthday!
For lili's birthday, which was saturday, we visited the water park in Six Flags, called Hurricane Harbor. The water park was rather packed, but thankfully the floors were acceptable in terms of cleanliness. We went on about six rides, and though many of them look mild and unexciting before we went on, in reality they are actually quite thrilling, especially the one that's shaped like a filter, which was probably the best one. Lili and I also won some stuffed animals, including a xute monkey. After changing back to dry clothes, we visited the regular park and went on one roller coaster, before having a rather delicious dinner in DC's Chinatown.
And of course, we went to watch HP6 last thursday. I thought the story and plot were nicely delivered, though as all adaptations, it lacks certain details.
Fatigued. Good nite.
♥ nature
July 8, 2009
Nature is lovely, no? I thought I'd echo on Kevin's theme, so here it is.
Went volunteering near JH Hospital today. I spent part of my time sweeping the streets of Baltimore..literally with a broom. Now that's an experience not everyone gets (looking at it brightly). For dinner, Lili and I went to Five Guys for the third time. It was quite a sumptuous meal.
Need to work hard tmr. Ganbatte.
Spoiled by technology..
July 2, 2009
Technology has rendered me lazy. It is so easy to update my status thru twitter; if I want to share a link, I just paste and hit enter. If it's a photo, I drag it to Tweetie and it does everything for me (upload to a image server, provide a link etc). Meanwhile, to add an image on this blog, it requires resizing and typing/copy&pasting a few lines of code. Who'd want to do it the hard way when there's an easy way?
On a completely different note, I've become obsessed with the Bittersweet Life. (Sadly, I have a tendency of liking something, then as time marches on, my ardor fades. (So this is just to keep track of what 'obsessions' I have in my petty life..)) Its story is atypical from that of other korean dramas. But what I like most is how conflicted each relationship is. The story starts off by showing D killed himself by jumping off a building, and rewinds to 6 months ago. Briefly: A and B got married because B was pregnant. A works hard to move up the society and provides for B and their children. A has an affair with C, whom D loves. B realizes A has an affair, and heads to japan hoping to end her life and escape from her loveless marriage, but meets D, who is accused of murdering the wealthy E. Why did D kill himself? (Confusing, huh?)
